THE CARPINTEROS – VITAL OBJECT
Last days to check the exhibition of the Cuban art collective that is one of the most acclaimed nowadays. Through the creative use of architecture, sculpture, and design, artists question the usefulness of objects with acid criticism and humorous social appeal.
When: Wednesday to Monday from 9am to 9pm. Until August 1st.
Where: Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil. Rua Primeiro de Março, 66 – Downtown.
MANIE AND THE GREAT ARRAIÁ DANSANTE
The event promises Brazilian classics such as the drink called quentão, a coreography dance known as quadrilha, typical foods, circus performances and kiss tent. To make the soundtrack, Manie Gang receives Furmiga Dub and Bando (with special guest), DJ Juca, Cavalcanti and Suirá. And, of course, electro swing, retro beat, swing and new jazz on the track.
When: Saturday at 11pm.
Price: Tickets: Free (for those who ride a bicycle or for a wooden leg, for realsis), R$ 30 (2nd batch in advance) and R$ 35 in the hour

DOG WITHOUT FEATHERS, DEBORAH COLKER
Based on the homonymous poem by João Cabral de Melo Neto, it’s the first spectacle created by Colker with an explicit Brazilian theme. The dance mixes with the movies. Scenes from a film by Deborah and the filmmaker Cláudio Assis from Pernambuco are projected on the back of the stage and dialogue with the bodies of the 13 dancers.
When: Friday at 8:30 p.m., Saturday at 5 p.m. and at 8:30 p.m., and Sunday at 5 p.m.
Price: Tickets: from R$ 40 (lateral gallery) to R$ 120 (audience, main balcony and cabins)

SESC WINTER FESTIVAL
Perfect for those who want to climb the Sierra, the festival celebrates the 50 years of Tropicália, the most famous Brazilian musical movement. Friday has an opening in Petrópolis with Caetano Veloso, Nova Friburgo with Baby do Brasil and Teresópolis with Tom Zé. On Saturday, Teresópolis receives Liniker and The Caramelows. The festival will also have workshops, performances, theater shows and exhibitions, and next weekend hosts Criollo and Mano Brown shows, among other attractions.
When: From Today ’til August 06th.
Price: Shows: R$ 5 (Sesc members), R$ 10 (half-entry) and R$ 20.
Where: Sesc units from Nova Friburgo, Petrópolis and Teresópolis.
